2. Can/Will students still use SquirrelMail(webmail.monmouth.edu)?
After a student has been migrated to Hawkmail@Live, they will not have access to Squirrelmail. All existing email on Squirrelmail will be transitioned to Hawkmail@Live prior to the first time a student logs into Hawkmail@Live.
3. Is Skydrive going to replace my M: drive?
No. Skydrive will be used in addition to the M: drive for students. Files located on Skydrive will exist on Microsoft servers, while files on the M: drive will exist on Monmouth servers which are located on campus. For important files, we recommend using the M: drive. The Skydrive is hosted by Microsoft and not backed up, so there is no way to retrieve lost files.
4. Will my existing data be migrated?
All messages and folders--including subfolders--will be migrated, BUT contacts and calendar items will not.
5. Will my alias for Squirrelmail (ex. Tim.D.Tester@monmouth.edu) work on Hawkmail@Live?
You will be able to receive messages sent to your alias, but users will not be able to send mail coming from an alias. You can get your email alias at http://www2.monmouth.edu/studentteldir.
6. What happens if I delete an email by accident from the Hawkmail@Live?
When you delete an email in Hawkmail@Live it goes to the Deleted Items folder, any messages located in this folder can be accessed and moved back into your inbox. Mail in the Deleted Items folder will stay there permanently until you remove it again from within Deleted Items. Once you remove something from Deleted Items it will go into a special folder called "Recover Deleted Items". You can access this folder by right-clicking on Deleted Items within Hawkmail@Live. Mail inside Recover Deleted Items stays there for 14 days. After 14 days the mail is gone permanently and there is no way to recover it. Be very careful when emptying your Deleted Items folder or individually removing mail.
7. Why can’t I find certain users in the address book?
Only users who have been migrated to Hawkmail@Live will be displayed in the address book. After all users are migrated, all students will be displayed.
8. How do I change/reset my password for Hawkmail@Live?
Simply change your Monmouth network password using the password reset line, or if you are on campus press CTRL+ALT+Del and choose “Change Password”. Your password will synchronize to Hawkmail@Live.
