4/23, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., Belmar:
St. Vincent de Paul Society - Belmar, NJ - Volunteers are needed to clean and dust donations of furniture, lamps, glassware, and other household items. For more information and to sign up, visit the Jersey Cares website
4/23, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Little Egg Harbor:
Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ - Little Egg Harbor, NJ - Volunteers are needed to clean, mend and repair terrapin barrier fence after it was damaged from Hurricane Sandy. The fence helps protect Northern Diamondback terrapins which lay eggs on the soft shoulder of the road. Each year hundreds of terrapins which are killed by motor vehicles throughout their range and here in New Jersey. Duties of volunteers for mending and repairing the fence include fastening and hanging a plastic mesh fence to metal posts with zip ties. Metal posts may need to be replaced and/or installed where they are gone. Some sections of the fence may need to be pushed into the ground more with shovels. Debris also needs to be picked up along the length of the fence. please dress accordingly for the weather and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

4/27, 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., various sites in Monmouth and Ocean Counties:
Clean Ocean Action's Waves of Action Day: Beach Sweeps - Volunteers are needed for beach sweeps at various sites in Monmouth and Ocean Counties (rain or shine). Please bring gloves, dress for the weather, wear sunscreen, and wear closed, hard-soled shoes. For more information and to sign up, visit the Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweeps website
4/27, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Manasquan:
First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan - Manasquan, NJ - Volunteers are needed to support the process of rebuilding homes and various other tasks. Volunteer duties include insulation installation, sheetrock installation, spackling and taping crews, molding and trim installers, cabinet installers, cabinet installers, floors installation, painting crews, cleaning crews, and moving/unpacking. 4/29, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., Belmar
St. Vincent de Paul Society - Belmar, NJ - Volunteers are needed to help out on delivery runs, loading and unloading purchased items from their delivery truck, and to pick up furniture that has been donated. Bay Head Public Works - 214 Park Ave - Bay Head, NJ - Help is needed to serve food to emergency personnel, who are keeping Bay Head secure by working around the clock in their town. If you are able to assist, please call 347-834-2231 in the morning before making the trip to Bay Head.

The Freehold Clergy Association - St. Peter's Church - 33 Throckmorton Street - Freehold, NJ - Volunteers are needed to help with the nightly intake process, which takes place from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter's, or to help with the overnight. Soup D'Shore Soup Kitchen - St. Luke's United Methodist Church- 535 Broadway - Long Branch, NJ - This soup kitchen was founded by Monmouth University Center for Entrepreneurship students. 5-6 volunteers are needed on Tuesdays from 3 to 6:30 pm. Ocean Gate Methodist United Church - Bayview Avenue - Ocean Gate. Volunteers needed Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to sort and distribute items, as well as to cook.

Point Pleasant Beach Masonic Lodge - 911 Richmond Ave - Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ - 732 245 7187 Volunteers may be needed to help clean out residents homes. Please bring gloves, masks, and shovels,if possible.

Woody's Ocean Grille "Operation Feed Sea Bright" - 1 E Church Street - Sea Bright, NJ - Verify the location before you go. They have been feeding large groups every day, so volunteers are appreciated.
The Red Cross, located on West Park Avenue in Tinton Falls, is in desperate need of volunteers to talk to children and their families. They are looking for people who have Master's degrees, especially in counseling. The are also looking for teachers. For more information, contact Trish at 732-493-9100.

The building being currently being used for drop donations in Union Beach needs to be vacated. Volunteers are needed to help move donations that have been received. United Way of Monmouth County desperately needs volunteers to help support the large scale administrative work that will be affiliated with this reception Center operation. Shore Helpers: www.shorehelpers.com - Shore Helpers is a portal that connects families and businesses of the Central and South Jersey Shore areas impacted by Hurricane Sandy with volunteers who can help. On the site, you will see a list of specific needs. Click the "Help" button next to each need in order to join that particular project.
