Monmouth University'sHurricane Sandy Relief Project
My organization wants to do a fundraiser for the storm relief. How do I get approval for this?
In order to create a unified effort, we ask that all fundraisers be coordinated through Hawks Fly Together. Fundraisers must conform to University policies. Some fundraisers may need additional approval, beyond the Student Government Association. For example, if you are interested in planning a raffle fundraiser, about eight weeks of lead time is usually needed. Raffles require licenses from the Borough of West Long Branch. If you intend to work with outside businesses, you must have approval through University Advancement. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to get approval to do a program, fundraiser, donation-drive, or volunteer event.
My organization wants to collect items for donation (clothing, food, blankets, etc). How do we know what is needed, and how do we get approval?
We ask that all non-monetary donation drives taking place at Monmouth University are coordinated through Hawks Fly Together for Relief. We are working with the Monmouth County donation center at Thompson Park in Lincroft. Bleach, D and C Batteries, and personal hygiene products are some of the items that have been requested. Need for specific items will change over the course of the recovery. E-mail us at email@example.com to find out what specific items are currently needed the most and to submit an application to request a non-monetary donation drive to be sponsored by your organization.
How do I find out about opportunities for volunteer work to help out in the community?
Please contact Marilyn Ward at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about existing volunteer opportunities in the local community.
Is there a way for me or my organization to be part of a larger, collective effort?
Hawks Fly Together for Relief was created to support the unified efforts of the members of the Monmouth University community. We encourage collaboration between student groups in coordinating events.
