| The Middle States Evaluation Team will be arriving today, March 20, for a four-day visit to Monmouth University for the reaffirmation of accreditation. The evaluation is based on the fourteen characteristics of excellence, specifically Mission, Goals, and Objectives; Planning, Resource Allocation, and Institutional Renewal; Institutional Resources; Leadership and Governance; Administration; Integrity; Institutional Assessment; Student Admissions; Student Support Services; Faculty; Educational Offerings; General Education; Related Educational Experiences; and Assessment of Student Learning. | |
| During the visit, the team will be meeting with various campus constituencies, including the Middle States Steering Committee, President Paul Gaffney and his Cabinet, Provost Thomas Pearson and the Academic Affairs Planning Group, Faculty Council, and student representatives, as well as the Board of Trustees. In addition, there will be a reception and dinner and a tour of campus. | |
The team is led by Dr. Jose Jaime Rivera, president of Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico. The others come from Long Island University, Syracuse University, Philadelphia University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Universidad Politecnica de Puerto Rico, Villanova University, New York University, Holy Family University, and Duquesne University. Dr. Glenn Lang, Executive Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund in New Jersey, will be representing the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education. |
