
Goals
The Macheke Sustainability Project is working in both the short- and long-term to make this ambitious dream a reality.
The following are the project goals:
- Research led by students at Monmouth University (with faculty support). Research includes but is not limited to: needs assessment, best practices, funding sources, risk analysis, and analysis of the progress made in the community of Macheke, Zimbabwe.
- Fundraise to support the project (monetary grants, low-interest loans, gifts, donations of resources, supplies, and volunteers, etc).
- Implement initiatives in Macheke with the aim to reduce poverty in this village.
Current Activities
The main focus of the team in the USA is to do research (needs assessment, best practices, funding sources, risk analysis, etc) and analysis of the progress made in the community. The following activities are either underway or planned:
