    Tara EgentonTara Egenton

    Tara is the President of the Honors Student Council. She is currently a freshman in the 5-Year Master’s program for English and Elementary Education to become a Reading Specialist. Tara works in the Honors School office. Tara is a Big Sister in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties. She is also a member of the Student Alumni Association, International Reading Association, and the Honors Arête Newsletter. Tara has also wrote for Monmouth’s Outlook Newspaper and Hawk TV News. In the fall of 2014, Tara will be a Peer Learning Assistant for Professor Vujnovic’s Hollywood Journalism freshman seminar class. Tara recently became a member of the First Year Honors Society, Phi Eta Sigma. Tara will be working this summer as a camp counselor at Cherry Hill’s International Skates and Sporting Center. She hopes to give the Honors School campus-wide recognition and she plans to create a close-knit Honors community.

    Joshua ManningJoshua Manning

    Josh Manning is the Vice President of the Honors Student Council. He is a freshman Business and Legal Studies major. Outside of the classroom, he is very involved in the Monmouth community. He is a Legal Intern in the Office of the General Counsel and as a member of the mock trial team. He is also heavily involved in music on campus, playing lead trumpet player for the Pep and Jazz Bands; he also plays piano at the Monmouth University Catholic Center. This summer, he will be an Orientation Leader for incoming freshman and transfer students. Next semester, he will also be starting as a Resident Assistant in Mullaney Hall and a Peer Learning Assistant for the Debating Legal Rights First Year Seminar class. He looks forward to working with Honors students and using the council as a vehicle for positive change in the Honors School.

    Brianna MerrimanBrianna Merriman

    Brianna (Bri) Merriman is the Secretary of the Honors Student Council. She is a freshman Communications (TV/Radio) major, and plans on earning a minor in marketing. Although she is a commuter student, Bri loves to stay involved on campus. She is the Music Director for WMCX, a member of Hawk TV, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma. Bri can oftentimes be found singing and playing her guitar at various school events. Also, she will be working as an Orientation Leader this summer. Off campus, Bri works in the box office at Two River Theater. She wants to work with the rest of the council to make sure all Honors School students can voice their opinions about how to improve the current Honors program. She is excited to help plan more events and opportunities for the Honors school to work together and grow as a tight-knit group.

     

    Brianna GoldenBrianna Golden

    Brianna Golden is the Community Service Outreach Chair of the Honors Student Council. She is a freshman double-majoring in Political Science and Spanish. In addition to her new position as the Community Service Outreach Chair, she also works in the Office of President Brown, serves on the Student Government Association as a Freshman Senator, and holds the position of Secretary for the Campus Crusade for Christ organization. She is also a member of the First Year Service Project and she will be a Summer Advising Mentor for incoming first year students. Next year, Brianna will be a Resident Assistant in Pinewood Hall. Brianna looks forward to planning many great community service outreach events in which the Honors School can greatly impact the community.

     

    Jessica StantonJessica Stanton

    The treasurer of the Honors School Student Council is Jessica Stanton. Jessica is a freshman Clinical Laboratory Science major with a concentration in Medical Laboratory Science, and a tenor saxophone player, is active in the women’s group with her church, and works as an information assistant at the University Library. Jessica is very willing and looking forward to working with all of you to address to the best of her ability any concerns that you may have! As an on-campus resident of the Honors School, Jessica wants to work with the rest of the council and honors students to make the honors school a greater community for the students involved here.
