Scholarships for Undergraduates
Monmouth University Offers:
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Unlike most colleges and universities, Monmouth doesn’t just offer scholarships to a limited number of elite students. If you meet the established criteria, you will be rewarded. Scholarship and grant funding ranges from $2,000 to $15,500 per year; award amounts vary as a function of academic performance. You do not need to complete a separate application, participate in a formal competition, write an essay, or sit through an interview to receive consideration. Every freshman and transfer applicant will automatically be considered for all scholarships awarded by the University. All scholarships are renewable annually as long as you maintain the required grade point average (GPA) and full-time status.
For renewal, Monmouth University Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; Academic Grant recipients must maintain a GPA of at least 2.5; and Incentive Grant recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.0.
SCHOOL OF SCIENCE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
Beginning in Fall 2009, Monmouth University will award the School of Science Transfer Scholarship to all students who complete an AA, AS, or AAS degree at a New Jersey community college; earn a 3.25 cumulative GPA; and enroll full-time in an academic program within Monmouth’s School of Science. Students who meet these criteria will receive a $5,000 scholarship in addition to their merit award, which equates to between $11,000 and $14,000 per year. Monmouth will renew the awards each year, assuming the student maintains a 3.0 grade point average and full-time enrollment in the School of Science.
SPONSORED AND ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
The University offers a number of sponsored and endowed scholarships, which have been made possible through the generosity of friends of the University. All enrolled students receive consideration for these awards and there is no student-initiated application process. Financial Aid Office will identify a pool of candidates for each scholarship, except where stipulated by the donor, and will select the candidate that most closely matches the donor-established criteria. Scholarship recipients will be notified via a financial aid award letter.
