A study of significant life tasks in the physical, social, and emotional development of the individual. 3 credits.
SW 321 - Social Work Practice and Techniques I
Methods and skills utilized in generalist social work practice; major methods of social work intervention with individuals, groups, and communities using case analysis and theoretical concepts. 3 credits.
SW 421 - Field Practice in Social Work
Supervised experience in a social agency; direct work with individuals, groups or communities; preparation for professional responsibility upon graduation. Sixteen hours per week in placement and a weekly seminar at the University. 6 credits.
SW 422 - Advanced Field Practice in Social Work
Advanced field practice; direct services to individual clients, families, groups, and communities, with the possibility of administrative experiences. Sixteen hours per week in placement and a weekly seminar at the University. 6 credits.
Graduate Field Courses
SW 510 - Field Practicum I
Two hundred and fifty supervised hours in a social agency; direct work with individuals, groups, or communities in conjunction with a field practice seminar. Students must receive a B or higher in this class to proceed to the next field placement class. 3 credits.
SW 520 - Field Practicum II
Two hundred and fifty supervised hours in a social agency; direct work with individuals, groups, or communities in conjunction with a field practice seminar. seminar. Students must receive a grade of B or higher in this class to proceed to Social Work 630. Prerequisite: Social Work 510. 3 credits.
SW 630 - Field Practicum III FC
Two hundred and fifty supervised hours in a social agency; direct work with individuals, groups or communities. Prerequisite: Be an advanced standing student or equivalent. 3 credits.
SW 631 - Field Practicum III CI
Two hundred and fifty supervised hours in a social agency; direct work with individuals, groups or communities. Prerequisite: Be an advanced standing student or equivalent. 3 credits.
SW 640 - Field Practicum IV FC
