“The software engineering graduate program provides students the opportunity to have a capstone experience, either working on a project, or on a thesis. The project is a real-world, team-oriented endeavor, usually executed for an external client. Some current students are engaged in research opportunities with Monmouth’s Rapid Response Institute, which supports Homeland Security, Homeland Defense, and Emergency Management.”
DIRECTOR
MS SOFTWARE ENGINEERING PROGRAM
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or another engineering-related discipline with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate major.
- Candidates whose undergraduate major was not in one of these fields may be admitted on a case-by-case basis.
- Demonstrate completed coursework in computer programming, data structures and algorithms, operating systems, discrete mathematics, objectoriented analysis and design, and disciplined software development. Applicants who have not completed coursework in these areas will be required to complete the preparatory/foundation courses as necessary.
- Thesis-track students must hold a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from a college or university accredited by its regional accrediting agency.
