Dear School of Science Alumnus,
I hope you enjoy our first edition of Science Buzz, our e-newsletter for alumni. Exciting things are happening in the School of Science. Career opportunities for science majors are outstanding and this fall we just enrolled our largest class of students in the history of the school. |
|
As our science alumni, we want you to be proud of your school and Science Buzz is one way to keep you informed about the School and to invite you to participate in School of Science events, including ways you can help our current students.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you, so please feel free to contact me by e-mail or by calling 732-571-3421.
Best regards for a great fall,
Michael A. Palladino |

This summer a new high field (400 MHz) nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (NMR) was installed in the department. The NMR will be used in laboratory classes and for student and faculty research. Having this instrument will provide outstanding hands-on training opportunities for students and give us the ability to study atomic structure at a level of detail which was not possible with our older instrument.

Visit School of Science Alumni Survey to update your profile, tell us about your successes, and help us serve you better as an alumnus.

Dr. Nancy Santagata, BS Chemistry, 2001, is currently a postdoctoral research associate in the Physics Department at The Ohio State University where she utilizes low temperature (4 K) ultrahigh vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy to tackle basic physics problems from a chemist’s perspective. She attributes a portion of her successes to Monmouth professors for '' igniting and encouraging my interest in chemistry, but also for showing me that it is actually pretty cool to like (and be good at) science."
If you would like to read about her progress from Monmouth to the present in her own words, click here.
