Students earn their MA in Public Policy by successfully completing required courses, electives, and a thesis or comprehensive exam (either option results in 30 credits). The overall program structure is outlined in the curriculum charts below, and any questions can be directed toward the Program Director or an advisor.

Note: Students can also choose elective courses offered in another discipline. These new selections may be considered acceptable substitutions by the Program Director. Please contact the Program Director or an advisor to discuss the options and procedures for course substitution.
PS 597: PORTFOLIO - Please contact the Program Director to register.
- Students must submit a portfolio electronically using an e-Campus dropbox.
- Typically, portfolios are arranged as follows:
- Executive Summary (250 words)
- Table of Contents
- Resume
- Statement of Academic and Professional Goals (750 words)
- Artifacts including at least two research papers
- Practicum reflective essays
- Colloquium essays (students must attend a minimum of two lectures over the course of their program, and write a 2–3 page reflective essay on each Colloquium attended)
