"There is a huge demand for professionals with homeland security education. The interagency nature of how we conduct homeland security includes the law enforcement community, the fire community, public health, and all levels of government, just to name a few. Graduate degree programs, especially those that build on professional knowledge, are essential to help meet this demand."
--Stan Supinski, director of the Center for Homeland Defense and Security University and Agency Partnership (UAPI)
Understanding the demand for and employment opportunities available to those with advanced homeland security training, Monmouth University is offering an online Homeland Security graduate certificate for Fall 2011! Monmouth is a partner of the Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) at the Naval Postgraduate School, and has based its curriculum on their nationally recognized effort.

UNIVERSITY COMMITMENT:
Monmouth University's commitment to defense and preparedness extends beyond the Criminal Justice program. In 2004, the Rapid Response Institute was established to leverage Monmouth University's modeling, simulation, and software engineering research to provide rapid response capabilities for any Homeland Security, Homeland Defense, or natural or man-made event in support of the First Responder Community by enabling early identification of biological, chemical, and radiological attacks, to coordinate responses to such attacks across various local, state, and federal organizations, and to create a national model for a rapid response capability to a bioterrorist attack, communicable disease threat, or catastrophic disaster. The Institute is leveraging the core capabilities of University faculty, students, and visiting scientists to meet the goals of the program. We have already delivered four systems specifications and three prototype visualization systems to the US Army in regards to bioterrorism and emergency management.
