Endowed Chairs
Within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences are the Freed Chair in Social Science, endowed through a gift from the Gerald Freed Foundation, and the Jules Plangere, Jr. Chair in American Social History, endowed through a gift of Life Trustee Jules Plangere, Jr.
- Professor William Mitchell, a professor of Anthropology, occupies the Freed Chair
- Professor Brian Greenberg, a professor of History, occupies the Plangere Chair.
- Professor Kristin Bluemel, a professor of English, occupies the McMurray-Bennett Chair.
