Message from Dean Kelly
Let me begin by saying that it is both a personal pleasure and a professional privilege for me to serve as Dean of the School of Business Administration. I have had the opportunity to serve the school as Dean since July 1, 2001, and it has been and continues to be a very pleasant and satisfying experience.
Monmouth University's School of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier accrediting organization for business schools worldwide. AACSB accreditation is based on a comprehensive and rigorous review of a school's processes for achieving its mission, assessing educational outcomes, and planning for continuous improvement.
Monmouth University's School of Business Administration is uniquely situated to make rapid strides in this millennium. It has a multitude of assets. First and foremost of these is an excellent faculty. A blend of experienced academics and new hires, individuals with extensive academic and professional experience, the faculty is first of all highly devoted to teaching. A review of the Student Instructional Reports is clear evidence of faculty who meet or exceed national norms for teaching effectiveness. For our faculty teaching doesn't start and stop at the classroom door, it continues into the halls, faculty offices, and lunchrooms and even on occasion into the parking lot. Close personal interaction with the faculty is a hallmark of the education at Monmouth University's School of Business Administration.
Yet despite this emphasis on teaching, most of the faculty have over the past several years established themselves as important scholars in their respective fields. Their work has been published in a number of major journals, the proceedings of national and international conferences, books and other outlets.
Students are also exposed throughout the year to a variety of "real world" experts. Notable among these are the Fall Finance Symposium, the H.R. Young Lecture Series, the Accounting Club Speakers Series, the Finance Club Speaker Series, etc. Through our annual Stakeholders Conference students, alumni, faculty and members of the business community spend a full morning discussing the School of Business Administration, where it is and where it should be going.
As the Dean of the School I look forward to working with you as we pursue a vigorous program of new initiatives and new development for the School of Business Administration. If you have any questions, concerns or issues you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me or come visit us.
Dean Fred Kelly
