Master of Arts in Public Policy
The Master of Arts in Public Policy is a 30-credit degree program preparing students for careers in policy analysis and public service.
The Department of Political Science and Sociology launched this program in Fall 2006. The hybrid classes featuring online classes interspersed with in-class seminars on alternate weeks has proven to be a highly effective model for the graduate program. Students produce high quality work and demonstrate a commitment to learning about and making a difference in the world of public policy. They are involved in or exploring career opportunities and internships with local government, non-profit agencies, law enforcement, educational institutions, and other public policy related organizations.

The curriculum allows students to learn about the public policy process and policy analysis; improve critical thinking; increase oral and written communication skills; and develop research skills. Students will have the opportunity to analyze the impact of public policy choices and decisions by engaging in public interest polling.
