Mathematics Gateway Exams
About the Exams
All students wishing to enroll in certain math courses are required to pass two gateway exams. Exam 1/2 should be taken while completing the first two semesters of calculus, as it is a prerequisite for Calculus III and Linear Algebra. Exam 3 should be taken some time during the sophomore year, as it is a prerequisite for MA 314, MA 317, MA 320, MA 410, and MA 419.
The exams require 60 minutes, and are taken in HH308 during one of the following timeslots (Spring 2013):
Mondays: 3:30pm-4:45 p.m.* with Dr. Bonnie Gold (bgold@monmouth.edu)
*(on Mondays 3/4, 3/25 and 4/15 the exam time is 3:45 p.m.-5 p.m.)
Tuesdays: 1 p.m.-2:15 p.m. with Dr. Micah Chrisman (mchrisma@monmouth.edu)
Wednesdays 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. with Dr. Emanual Palsu-Andriescu (epalsu@monmouth.edu)
Thursdays 1 p.m.-2:15 p.m.) with Dr. Lynn Bodner (bodner@monmouth.edu)
Please email the faculty member who is proctoring the exam no less than 24 hours before you sit for the exam.
If you are late for an exam, it is the discretion of the faculty member as to whether you may take the exam during the scheduled period.
The gateway exam coordinator is Dr. Micah Chrisman.
