About the Department
The Mathematics Department at Monmouth University provides a well-rounded program based in the traditional arts and sciences culminating with a bachelor of science degree.
In addition to the traditional program, the department jointly sponsors, with the School of Education, a baccalaureate program in mathematics and education where students receive a New Jersey Subject Area Certification in Mathematics, a BS in Education, and a BS in Mathematics.
The Mathematics Department has 13 full-time faculty members and approximately 14 part-time instructors.
The department has a dedicated computer teaching laboratory, and administers the Mathematics Learning Center, which provides peer tutoring.
Mathematics majors at Monmouth University have the opportunity to:
- interact closely with their professors
- participate in activities of the department, such as tutoring in the Mathematics Learning Center
- become involved in an undergraduate research project
- acquire the skills and motivation for life-long learning
