The Mission Statement
We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. We seek to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways.

Phi Alpha Theta at Monmouth University:
You must have an overall GPA of 3.2 for seniors and 3.7 for juniors with twelve or more credits in history completed at Monmouth University to become a member of the society. For further information, please contact the faculty advisor, Dr. Jean Li (332 Howard Hall) at jli@monmouth.edu. You will be contacted via mail before the end of the semester indicating your eligibility status.
