Department of Foreign Language Studies

Within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, students can pursue a number of academic degree programs, including those available in the Department of Foreign Language Studies.

Monmouth University’s Department of Foreign Language Studies strives to inspire students to a lifelong appreciation of and engagement with Romance languages and literatures, and to prepare them for a variety of careers as well as active participation in their communities through effective critical thinking and communication skills. The department provides the opportunity to concentrate in Spanish, and to study in Italian and French. Elementary courses in German and Latin are also available. A significant opportunity for Spanish majors is our study abroad program in Madrid, Spain.
