Dual Major in Music and Theatre Arts

The Department of Music and Theatre Arts offers a unique opportunity to major in one or both of these disciplines. For example, students interested in performance can double major in theatre arts and music. And those who want to focus on production or management can double major in theatre arts and music with a concentration in music industry. Or, students can choose one of our majors and one from outside the department, such as communication, history, or English.
"Our students are engaged in a wide range of music and theater experiences and venues. In one semester, they may be singing a Mozart Mass with full orchestra, and in the next semester, acting in a play, building sets, stage managing, or producing a rock band show. All music and theater students receive formal training in their discipline through rigorous course work, through music and theater performance, and through real-life internship experiences."
