Professor Grillo is a member of the American Society of Criminology, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she obtained an MA in Criminal Justice, and Rutgers University-Newark, obtaining a MA in Criminology. Professor Grillo is currently completing her Ph.D at Rutgers University-Newark, focusing on the impact of terrorism on local law enforcement agencies.

Presently, Professor Grillo is teaching undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Criminal Justice and Criminology. In addition to teaching, Professor Grillo serves as a first-year advisor, the criminal justice honor society – Alpha Phi Sigma – advisor, and as the Career Advisor and Planner (CAP) for the Criminal Justice Department.

Research Interests:

Domestic terrorism, policing, homeland security, conspiracy theories, terrorism and the media, American street gangs, crime mapping, quantitative research methods.
