Dr. Lockwood will be presenting the results of his research on the following topic:
In recent years , criminologists have shown that certain types of places increase crime in the surrounding area. What we don’t know is: How far do these spatial effects extend? This study examines the spatial extent of criminogenic facilities to determine if, and how far, bars, schools, ATMS, subway stops, halfway houses, and drug treatment centers, increase crime.

The Department designed this event to connect students with working professionals in order to explore internship and job opportunities in the field of criminal justice. Professionals from numerous, federal, state, and local organizations will be there to speak to students about job opportunities.

APS's 2nd Annual Paws for a Cause Vest a K9 Fundraiser, Anacon Hall
This fun event is held to raise funds to purchase protective vests for K9 officers and includes a demonstration of the work of local K9 officers.
