The Jules L. Plangere, Jr. Center for Communication and Instructional Technology meets the need of the rapidly expanding communication and instructional technology departments.
This progressive facility features:
- Departmental and faculty offices, and classrooms;
- Offices for The Outlook, the student-run newspaper;
- Offices and a studio for WMCX, the student-run radio station;
- Offices and a studio for Hawk TV, the student-run television station;
- PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America);
- A multimedia classroom equipped with theatrical lighting and a small stage for rehearsals and performances by CommWorks, a student-run performance group; and
- A state-of-the-art computer laboratory.
The Department of Communication is the second largest department on the Monmouth University campus. The undergraduate and graduate programs feature a progressive blend of academic applications with the latest career applicable techniques. The advanced computer lab provides students with the latest hardware and software applications.
Some media classes are taught by working professionals who bring their skills to the communication curriculum.
