Research Interests:
Dr. Dana Ehret specializes in vertebrate paleontology, paleobiology, herpetology, and wildlife conservation. His current interests include the evolution of white (Carcharodon) and mako (Isurus) sharks during the Miocene (23-5.3 million years ago) and Pliocene (5.3 – 3.6 million years ago) Epochs in the Pacific basin, macroevolution of body size in the megatoothed sharks (Otodus and Carcharocles) during the Cenozoic, evolution and taxonomy of the emydid turtles (Graptemys, Malaclemys, and Terrapene) in the eastern United States, and turtle conservation.
