Jing Zhou, Professor
Professor Jing Zhou’s work has been selected for two New Media Art Festivals:
- Pixilerations [v.8]—New Media Fringe Festival, organized by FirstWorks, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and Brown University
- Currents 2011—International New Media Festival in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Anne Leighton Massoni, Specialist Professor

Specialist Professor, Anne Leighton Massoni, was named as a finalist from over 700 submissions for Critical Mass 2011, Photolucida, Portland, OR.
Massoni's proposed panel "Borrowed People | Constructed Places" was accepted for the Society for Photographic Education's national conference in San Francisco, CA 2012. The panel includes: Libby Rowe from University of Texas at San Antonio, Adrian Duran of Memphis College of Art and Kris Sanford of Central Michigan University.
Additionally, her curated show: Spinning Yarns opened at University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, IN, she and co-curator, Libby Rowe will be giving a talk about the exhibition in early September. For review of this exhibition see http://www.fortwaynereader.com/story.php?uid=1957.
Ed Johnston, Professor

Ed Johnston's creative work has been included in Olga Ast's new book Infinite Instances: Studies and Images of Time. Information about the upcoming book launch party can be found here.
The inclusion of his work in this book has occurred in conjunction with his participation in the ArcheTime Project.
The Annual Student Show was on view from April 25 to May 6, 2011 at the Ice House and the 800 Gallery. The show brought together the work of students enrolled in the Department of Art and Design.

EMILY BLANCHETTE, STUDENT
Andrew Cohen, Chair of Art and Design presented Emily Blanchette with the Jacob Landau Institute award. Emily is a double major in Art and Math and on the Dean's list. This award comes with $1,000 donated by the Landau Institute.

CANDACE JAHN, STUDENT
Student Candace Jahn's image was selected as a FINALIST for the Photographer's Forum magazine's 31st Annual Student Photography Contest, sponsored by Nikon, USA.
PROFESSOR MARK LUDAK
Mark Ludak's photography is included in the inaugural 'Artist-Teacher' Exhibition at Numina Gallery, Princeton, NJ. The exhibition, curated by students at Princeton High School showcases the work of Artist-Teachers from the Princeton Area. The exhibition runs from February 25, 2011 through March 23, 2011.
Recent Awards for Photography include:
Silver Jasper Award-33rd Annual Jersey Shore Advertising Association 2010-Monmouth University, Viewbook Bronze Award-26th Annual Higher Education Advertising Award 2011-Monmouth University, School of Social Work Calendar.
SPECIALIST PROFESSOR ANNE LEIGHTON MASSONI
Anne Leighton Massoni along with her co-curator Libby Rowe of University of Texas, San Antonio celebrated the opening of the traveling exhibition "Spinning Yarns: Photographic Storytellers" at Kendall Galleries, in Grand Rapids, Michigan: http://www.kcad.edu/events/spinning-yarns. Massoni's series "Yours & Mine" will be included in ASPECT: Chronicle of New Media (V17), a biannual DVD publication. Volume 17 will be released in March. http://www.aspectmag.org
SPECIALIST PROFESSOR ANNE LEIGHTON MASSONI
Anne Leighton Massoni's collaborative work with Chelsy Usher entitled "Yours & Mine" was included in FotoSeptiembre, the month-long international photo festival in San Antonio, Texas as part of the exhibitionLong Range Collaborations. Curated by Libby Rowe, the exhibition also included work by Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman. The exhibition was named "pick of the week" by the San Antonio Current.

SPECIALIST PROFESSOR EDWARD JOHNSTON
Edward Johnston's new media artwork was selected by noted Los Angeles critic and curator Peter Frank for the 2010 DigitalArt.LA International Juried Exhibit at LACDA (Los Angeles Center for Digital Art).
His work has been included online as part of the 2010 DigitalArt.LA International Expo Highlights.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AWARD AND EXHIBITION

In June 2010, student Brittany Platt won the First Place of the Siggraph Annual International SpaceTime Student Exhibition (Poster category). Professor Jing Zhou served as the faculty advisor.

As the 2010 Switzer Distinguished Artist, Professor Jing Zhou's solo exhibition took place at Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts in Pensacola, Florida.

PROFESSOR ANNE MASSONI
Anne Massoni was elected as board member to the Society for Photographic Education Mid-Atlantic Regional. Also at the SPEMA regional conference at Montclair State University on November 6-7, 2009, six of our photography students were selected for the student exhibit: Rachel Bennung, Candace Jahn, Ashley Jensen, Lynda Lombardo, Lauren McConnell, and Shaun Robinson. Shaun Robinson received the award of 1st Honorable Mention.
