MISSION AND COMMITMENT:

Monmouth University Tutoring Center is committed to helping students maximize their learning through tutorials. Tutoring sessions are provided by both student Peer Tutors and faculty Master Tutors. All Peer Tutors and Master Tutors are committed to helping students by providing positive tutorial experiences.

THE GOAL OF EACH TUTORIAL:

The goal of each tutorial is to assist students in developing strategies that will help strengthen their knowledge, develop transferable learning skills, and achieve academic success.

TUTORIALS:

The Tutoring Center Coordinators will work with each student individually to provide the best type of tutorial for each individual situation. Both individual and group tutorials are provided.

WORKSHOPS:

Working in collaboration with the Life and Career Advising Center, workshops are offered in a variety of areas including study skills, time management, relaxation, and stress management.

MULTI-DIMENSIONAL LEARNING:

The Tutoring Center offers students many learning resources to enhance their individual learning styles including reference material, resource books, workshops, hands-on-learning, field experiences, and multimedia resources.

PEER TUTORS:

All Peer Tutors are students who have excellent academic standing and excel in the areas they are tutoring.

MASTER TUTORS:

Master Tutors are faculty members who have strong teaching backgrounds and knowledge of study strategies and learning styles.

FRESHMAN STUDIES TUTORIAL PROGRAM:

The freshman year is an important transition period. Working along with the Life and Career Advising Center, special services are offered to freshmen to assist them with their adjustment to the rigors of college academics.
