SI Leader Bios
Ashley Capparelli
SI Leader – CE 111-01
My name is Ashley, and I am a junior at Monmouth University. I am majoring in Mathematics; however, I am unsure of what field I want to work in after I graduate. I have two sisters; one is older than me, and the other is younger. I have lived in New Jersey my whole life. In my spare time, I enjoy running and hanging out with my friends. By becoming an SI leader, I hope to help students understand difficult concepts and become more confident with the material.

I am currently a sophomore at Monmouth University with a double major in Mathematics and Elementary Education. As an SI leader, I hope to increase both my insructional skills and the students' success in their course. I strive to become an elementary school teacher or a special education teacher. On campus, I am a proud sister of Alpha Xi Delta. I also work at the Math Learning Center as a peer tutor.

Filomena Ciccarelli
SI Leader – BA 251-01/02
I am currently a junior here at Monmouth University. I am majoring in Business with a concentration in Finance, and I am also minoring in IT. When I graduate from college in two years, I plan on getting a job and going for my Master’s. I always knew I would end up a business major. Math was always my strongest subject. I love punching numbers and figuring problems out. In my spare time, I hang out with friends, go shopping with my cousin, relax at home, and read a book.

Hey! I am a senior and currently a History and Education major with an IT minor. History has always moved me, and I'm very excited to be working as an SI leader this year. I hope I will be able to inspire the students I am working with to enjoy history as well. Besides my academic life at Monmouth, I also am a part of many intramural sports, including Flag Football. My team hopes to win the league championship for our first time this year!

Currently, I play the guitar; however, I am also in the process of learning to play the piano. I hope to attend graduate school in the future to obtain my MBA. Eventually, I hope to either be involved in music as a career or to work in the music industry.
Kinza Awan
SI Leader – BY 110-51
Hi, I am Kinza, and I am a sophomore here at Monmouth University. My major is Health and Physical Education. In the future, I wish to become a physical therapist. For this reason, I am taking all the science courses in addition to the major requirements. I am a proud member of Phi Eta Sigma national honor society. I am also a part of MSA and SASA on campus. In my free time, I love to listen to music, hang out with my friends, and I love to read novels by authors like Sarah Dessen. When I took Biology in fall 2011, I did really well in the class, and I hope to bring that knowledge to this semester's students in ways that are easy to understand but at the same time fun.

I am currently a senior double majoring in Biology and Chemistry. I plan on traveling for a little while after I graduate and then continuing on to graduate school for my PhD in Chemistry. In addition to being an SI Leader, I also work in the Admissions Office as a Student Ambassador, and I also do research in chemistry. I absolutely love music, so in my spare time I’m usually found dancing around and listening to my iPod. I enjoy relaxing and hanging out with my friends because we always manage to laugh and have a good time no matter what we’re doing.
